Thinking of growing Jack World

So I'm not ready to open an amusement park yet, but I want to grow grow grow. You can help me with this by spreading the word about Jack Wakes Up. In a new, exciting move, I will put you on a special mailing list to receive Jack Wakes Up stickers and trading cards if you do the following:

* Send an email to a friend of yours or someone you know who might be ready to start listening to audiobooks on their ipod. Or if you know someone who downloads audiobooks but doesn't know about Jack Wakes Up yet, even better. The more people you can send to, obviously, the better.

* If you BCC copy me on the email, I will not only add you to the mailing list, but I'll add you to the special "Jack Palms Pusher Patrol" and you'll get first dibbs on the coming release of stickers, trading cards (these will be cool) and pre-releases of new podcasts and the print version of the book!

Very exciting. Like I said, you'll definitely want to get in on this. Also, if any of you are graphics or artistic types, send in your renderings of your favorite JWU characters. The best ones may even wind up on said trading cards!

You'll be going wild when you see JWU stickers in your hometown! Be the first to get them.

Episode 18 is out now and if you're like me you're shaking in your bones about the prospect of having a Jack Palms hiatus. But don't worry. I won't let you go too long...

Ep 17 is out Now!

Just put out episode 17 and I forgot to remind everyone to tell your friends and all your peoples about the Jack Wakes Up podcasts. It doesn't even matter how well you know them. Just send out an email, many emails to people and tell them about Jack Wakes Up. Help spread the word because (I'm more and more realizing it all the time, and you probably knew already that) the success of Jack Wakes Up is dependent on YOU! That's right: that means get out there, mobilize your ipods and your friends ipods, burn some people some cd's if that's what it takes. Just do it!

That's right. We're like Nike now, rolling on toward the final episodes of this book and looking forward to giving you more. But tell some people what you've found here, what you like. It's all word of mouth that's making this happen!

Thanks again to all of you who continue to send in donations for the laptop fund. You are the greatest. Forget about Muhammed Ali.

Junius Ponds and Dunkin' Donuts!

Somewhere outside of New York City...

This is awesome! Thanks to Mike Debo for sending this in. Crazy thing is it's possible I saw this when I was driving across country and that this spot is the place our fine drug-dealing friend is named after!
Crazy.

The great news here is that Episode 16 is out and awesome!! Check in, check it out and recognize that we're down to the Final Four episodes now!! Counting down. Better start writing your questions for the Q&A.

The Good News

The good news is, troops, that I'm on the mend and building things back up on the new computer. It's been AWESOME to see the great response and all the emails and donations that people have been writing in. Keep it up!

If you haven't donated to the Laptop Replacement Fund yet, go ahead and hit the button over there on the right side.

If you have, you've given me new lifeblood and I'm up and running, ready to get episode 16 out this week as we move into the big climax of the novel.

Think Hopkins will get Junius out of jail? Will Freeman squash Jack to a pulp? Will a trip to Brasil really be in the cards for Jack?? Keep listening and find out all this and more!

Moving Forward and Donations

So by now you've probably heard the bad news. I could make excuses or keep swearing or try to figure out how this event fits itself into the cosmic mathematics of the universe, but... But at some point I have to move on so why not start right now. If you haven't heard the bad news, scroll down and read all about it or listen to this week's episode.

Here's where you can make your $1 donation to the great content you've been receiving in the form of the Jack Wakes Up podcast novel. It's a small sum and combined by a lot of people, it'll really help. So please...

There's a new button on the right side here that'll take you right to a secure paypal payment and then you can come right back here. If you want to send money through the mail, there's also an address below where you can send $1 (wrapped in a piece of paper so theives can't see what's inside) right to me.

Back in the Lab

That's right. I'm back in the lab again, cooking up the next episode of Jack Wakes Up. I think there'll be about 4 more until the end, and these are going to be the best ones, without any doubt. So I'll have a new one out by Wednesday and we'll go right on through.

Start writing in with your questions for the big Q&A wrapup episode.

BAAAAAAD NEWS

But now things have changed.
So you'll have noticed that I did not get out a new episode of the podcast this week. Here is why:

my LAPTOP was stolen out of the backseat of my car yesterday. It was in a backpack that could have held any backpack items or nothing but it had in it my laptop, basically the whole kit and kaboodle for the podcast. I was parked at a mall near one of the schools I teach at. I went in for less than 15 minutes and it was daylight and the parking lot was busy.
The police are only now investigating it at all because I know the captain on the force, but they're not optimistic, understandably.

SO.
So that's where I am. I'm planning to get in bed and pull the covers over my head for a few days while I wait for the new computer to arrive in the mail. The good news for you all is that I've ordered it and when it comes I'll start putting things back together for the podcast (I was backed up). But this fucking sucks. But I will move on and finish the novel by early December.

I'd like to ask for contributions of $1 to the new machine, if that's OK. I will be setting up a collection: if you have one dollar to contribute, put it in an envelope and stick it in the mail to:

Jack Wakes Up
c/o Seth Harwood
484A Vassar Ave
Berkeley CA 94708
USA.

I think if I can get a dollar from all my listeners, I'll be on the way back to recovering from this bomb to my financial system.

If you're on foreign soil and this seems far too cumbersome, I'll be working on setting up a paypal link in the near future.

Thank you for your support. I'll be back.

All best,

Seth
